Coming from humble beginnings to being superstars. What advice could you give to aspiring artists who don’t know the business of music?
The most crucial aspect that aspiring artists need to know is that having faith in your craft and dedicating time to understanding the process of what happens after your music goes live, actually goes a long way. They can access valuable knowledge about the music industry through platforms such as YouTube and books abouts the music business. It is essential to know how to distribute your music and know how you make money from it.
You have given us bangers over the years, which 3 artists “which you haven’t already worked with” would you like to work with?
We would really like to work with more African artists now so Tems, Davido and Wizkid are people we have set our sights on working with.
What could we expect from your set in Mahikeng?
The specially curated performance offers a vibrant mix of the different types of Genres of music we do, celebrating the eclectic musical journey we’ve embarked on. The set will feature a handpick selection of our work, highlighting the breadth of styles and genres produced/crafted to date.
Will you stick to the theme of black or white or surprise us with show stopper outfit?
We are preparing outfits that adheres to the theme, but we have a surprise in store for everyone attending the event.
You have since put on your own shows, what have y’all learnt from being booked to being the ones who now do the bookings?
We learnt to engage with numerous individuals and gain insight into various aspects of event planning. We now feel more confident and justified in requesting the necessary resources to deliver a successful event, as we strive to meet all artist’s requirements and expectations. We learnt of the significant impact these events have on people’s lives. We now understand the ability to adapt to last minute changes and being aware of a number of outcomes, such as performance cancellations. As we all know that things don’t always go as planned, we learnt to be flexible and work collaboratively with event organisers to find mutually beneficial solutions.
