Musical Journey

The youngest daughter of 4 children, Angie grew up in a very strict household. Her Father is very also happens to be very talented. She found her love for music through the music he would play. She was never introduced to Hip-hop. She grew up listening to Aretha Franklin, The Temptations and the likes of The Blue Notes. Her Dad plays a huge role in her love for music. He has always inspired her and would take her around to sing and dance for people when she was just 5 years old. He always says he knew she would be a great musician, and he literally groomed her into the open minded artist she is today. It was in High School when she discovered Rap music, and this is also where she says she fully grew into her voice and element.

The Birth Of Angie Santana
At the age of 16 she had already written her first song . it was a love song produced by Dumisani Mbulo who was a senior and also a very good producer. The song was not for release, but people got to hear it around school and it instantly got out and that’s how people started convincing her that she should consider music as a profession. And she started singing at school events, and talent shows. Immediately forming a supportive base from her peers and teachers.
Fast forward to her finishing her senior year and heading to university, she still kept on writing her own music. And in 2016 did her first big Album feature on Hip-hop Artist Sean Pages “From Alex With Love” Album. This opened so many doors for her. She got approached by other hiphop artists to work on their projects, but in this time she was putting together her first individual body of work…her Ep ”ByTheTimeYouGetThis” which was released late last year, South Africa isn’t the only place where she has done collaborations, I recently also worked with UK Rapper/producer and Vocalist “Taylor” And some of my music playing out in the streets of Philadelphia and London. I’ve had the opportunity of being Interviewed on Miami Radio Stations and also featured in on Hype Magazine . I’ve opened up for Gigi Lamayne and Nasty C and was one of the upcoming female artists to perform at Nadia Nakai’s “Bacardi House Sessions”.

The album is definitely going to showcase her talent and My diversity. It taps into My vulnerability and also highlights My strengths, the album speaks on failing at love but getting up and moving passed it. Its filled with Anthems for the ladies. Its also a wake up call for the guys. The main purpose of this album is to restore Self-love and to emphasize on women Empowerment. The Production on the project is Amazing. With Pop, R&B trapsoul elements The Song writing is exceptional, the messages are relatable and current. im also working on the album with KLY, Wichi1080, Gemini Major, Tweezy and many more amazing producers and artists.

My First Single “Don’t Waste My Time” is one of my favourite songs o the project, certainly because its so personal. Its speaks on how men tend to string women along and play with our time and emotions.., many women have been through it, and its very relatable, the song was produced by Wichi and KLY is the amazing songwriter behind it. The song highlights my diviserty and is one of the empowerment anthems the females are going to love and relate to.
